You see these baked goods? They are delicious. You definitely need to come and try them. But until you do, I’m going to tell you the story behind them, and you just need to believe me that they are really quite good.
These baked goods are made by the young men living at Oasis, AC. In addition to being provided a safe, stable place to live, attend school, and receive psychological care from dedicated Christian professionals, the residents of Oasis also receive vocational training.
A group of Amoveo Group volunteers built the bakery in the fall of 2022, and since then, dozens of young men have learned to bake bread, pizza, and desserts.
But the purpose of building the bakery wasn’t only to provide the young men with vocational training. As work in the bakery has expanded, the crew at Oasis has found opportunities to sell baked goods to local businesses and through individual orders.
The goal is for Panadería el Mana’s sales to not only cover the bakery’s costs so young men leave Oasis with real vocational experience, but also to help Oasis expand its vocational training options. And we have faith that this will happen!
